Default Alternator

Now it appears that my alternator is bad. Just replaced thermo. So my question is how hard is it to do. Keep in mind that I am new at working on the car. Although the termo went well once I found the right wrench.

Any insight would appreciated!

How hard is it to replace an alternator? Pretty self explanatory. If its your first time it shouldnt take you any more than 15 mintues.... literally.

It's pretty simple.

a) remove belt for Alternator
b) unplug top wire
c) remove the 2 bolts that hold it in
d) unplug side wire

reverse process and your done

^^ Thats why I didnt even explain it... its that simple lol Like I said before, it should take you no more than 15 minutes being your first time. I could prob change mine in less than 5 depending on how fast I can move my hands

lol...you have a lot to learn my friend. Theres a belt tensioner pulley just to the right of the alternator. Theres a bolt on it...maybe 5/8 or something. I cant remember exacts. Pull the bolt toward the passenger side of the car and it will loosen the belt enough for you to slip it off.

Theres these little things from heaven...I think they're called 'repair manuals' or something. I'm not sure. But they're a godsend nonetheless. GO BUY ONE!

^^^ Just pull the tensioner to the left side (if your standing in front of the bay) and you will feel the tension of the belt start to go away.... than just slide it off.
