Default AOD Question

Here the situation. When the car is in last gear (cruising at 45 or something) and I hit the gas I get nothing. Even if I let off for a second and hit the gas I will only increase in about 1 or two hundred rpm's from no throttle to 3/4 throttle (if not further). After I hit 3/4 throttle is just jumps and goes. Its like I have no power at all until I hit a certain spot and than its being floored. Theres no in between. Is this normal for a stock AOD car? Any advice?

BTW, if I do this from a stop everything is normal.

It sounds like your TV (throttle valve, same as a kickdown) cable is out of adjustment. At 3/4 throttle the trans should downshift, and in my opinion you shouldnt use overdrive until youre going 55 or faster, so it doesnt lug the car. I forget the procedure to check it, but Ill see if I can find it.

Yea, when Im crusing and I hit the gas it just goes NOWHERE and than it hits a point and it just takes off. So in order for me to get from like 45 to 70 or something like that I have to floor it, there is no cruising to that speed.

I only us OD when Im going 45 or faster. Because if not than Im around 1600rpm's at 45mph.

I guess I will have to go home and play w/ some things to see if I can figure it out. Does anyone have a picture of the tv cable? I remember someone asking for this a few months ago but I searched and couldnt find it....

^+1 The highway is the worst.... to get from 65 to 70 it takes me like 5 seconds unless of coarse I hit that one certain point and the car automatically goes full throttle.

And it also sounds horrible when the car is doing it also, it sounds like your ready to break down.

Don't forget to do your tq converter too... An upgraded aod will wear out a stock tq conv.
