Default Removed air silencer
I finally got off my lazy *** and removed my air silencer today, yay! So now I should be at 225.00000001 HP. Anyone know why that thing is there to begin with?

OOH OOH ME! I know why it's there. some kid fresh out of college probably got paid a buttload of $$ to design it cuz he has a "degree"

Thats what I've always heard it called. Look on the right side of your car inside the fender. It should be connected to your stock air box (if you still have a stock air box that is).

I'm assuming that it silences the air. Maybe it was another way for ford to CHOKE OUR MOTORS!!!

hmm nope my fenders hollow but i still got the box hooked up the fender.. i heard its the best way to cool the intake

It's been dynoed on a stock motor that removing the air silencer with no other mods adds 3 wheel horsepower max.
