Have a 89 Lx 5.0 and is hasnt been starting good at all lately. It cranks over for a while then i let off...then when i crank it the second time it fires right up? Timing is set at 14 degrees, new o2 sensors and MAF, fuel pressure checks out ok. Anyone had this problem? Thanks

Havent checked the spark but woudl that be it if it does run fine just takes a while to start?thanks

Yes actually if your not getting a good spark when the plugs are cold after cranking over the plugs begin to "warm" causing normal spark once again then the car will run fine, i would suggest pulling the plugs and checking for heavy carbon on the tips they should be a whitish color. I hope this helps

how much fuel pressure do you have with the key on and engine off, right after you turn the key on? most hard starts are because of lack of fuel, which would most likely be your regulator, but could also be a pump. and like scott said, spark plugs are possible too. but i would check fuel first.

yeah plugs are only a few weeks old but yeah i'll have to check em out. that could be the problem
