Default average paint job $$

can any of ya'll give me an average estimate on a descent paint job for a fox 5.0? I want a shiny black- nothin fancy, all moldings painted over too.
I have done some body work to it, would it be chheaper for me to just sand the car down completely myself, or not even bother and let the paint/body shop take over, seeing how I dont really have the professional experience on it.

You should do all the prep work yourself and you will save alot of money. Wet sand it yourself, and you will only be paying for painting. I got my car painted but only had to pay for the paint since I knew the owner well. The paint cost me 400 for the ford black.

It depends. Are you doing the door jams, motor bay, etc.? Thats what going to cost you the extra cash.

Maaco=crap... i had some body work done also for $1,500.... if you want door jambs painted also you will have to do a lot of work yourself... an some shops dont accept that cuz if they are going to do the paint they want it to be right...
