Default burning rubber smell

Ok, i know this isnt a mustang, but its still a 5.0, so show some love ********. i'm drivin my beater pick up around today and when i get home i smell this burning rubber smell. I couldnt find anything wrong with the truck, at all. I just have no idea what it is. i took the alternator off my mustang and put it on the truck a few weekends ago and im wondering if that could be the cause. The alternators both have the same amp output, but they look a little different, mainly the connector location. anyone have any clues? thanks

oh by the way, still havnt recieved any word on my ****in short block. someone in south carolina is going to end up with 2600 dollars worth of injuries to the groin and nipples.

Are you sure that burning rubber smell isn't the tires??

Probably a stupid question, but it's not the serpentine belt, is it?

I know you said you checked the belt, but I had a similar problem when my smog pump seized up...the pump got hot from the friction of the belt still rotating....
