Default goin to track in 10 hours

goin to the track early tomorrow morn.... I have a 1991 aod hatch with bbk off road h-pipe and magnaflow magnapack catback..... the rest of the car is stock with 3.27 gears and a fresh tranny.... i have crappy azz tires though..... does anyone have any tips? like for launching and if i should do the manual shifting or not..... its my first time at the track and i wanna try to do good but need tips....

well I figured out a couple tricks with the stock AOD, found out you could trick it to stay in each gear as long as you want...it is very hard on the tranny though. I would just hold it in first to about 5500 then throw and leave it in drive to save your transmission, dont expect great numbers....probably somewhere around 14.8-15.3

pre load the suspension untill the tires get ready to brake loose. try leaving the line just before the 3rd yellow light comes on. ur gona spinn a lot with the street tires.

ahh yes yes, forgot about all that. Maybe youll get lucky and have it hook like mine did when it was stock....third light turned yellow and I floored it, with only a chirp cant say that anymore though [:@]

Tim is right though, do not wait for the light to turn green, youll lose about a tenth...off reaction anyways

i have a feeling ill be leaving early too cause my car has HORRIBLE traction with these tires.... the wierd thing with my car is that when it gets hot i think it loses about 50 hp....... so im gonna get there early and let it site for awhile...

Launch at like 9 grand.....let 'em rip.

also dont heat ur street tires, just haze them. try not to run through the water to
