heads question
is it better to go bigger or smaller for your heads, I want my final setup to be an engine that can take a 300 shot of direct port nitrous so im goin to use cast iron heads for strength and get the bottom end forged and my soonest mod will be a new nitrous cam. so is there any way to just keep my heads (at least for now) and just p&p them till i get closer to getting the 300 shot. or just keep them all togother and get new ones when they blow out.
another question, how hard is it to change out ur engine to carburator and would that be something i should consider, price and all, over just buying a new intake and bigger injectors.

RE: heads question
I like the fuel injection myself, so for me I would stay FI.
On the heads, better flowing heads will always have the potential of more HP. If you go with heads larger than you need (as compared to properly sized) you will see a torque decrease. If I was going to spend the money to put forged stuff in the bottom, I would spend the money on some good heads.

RE: heads question
heads blow out? News to me. Sounds like your reaching a bit here with the 300 shot. Just make sure you use a main girdle so when the block splits the girdle can hold the crank and rod in the block, maybe it will be reusable.

RE: heads question
I would definatly look into some AFR 165 or Twisted Wedge heads for that 300 shot to work properly. You wont see much more of a horsepower gain past a 175 shot with the stock heads.
I would swap to a carb if price is an issue but if you want to stay fuel injected than its going to cost a little more.
A 150-300 hp plate system for a carb is about $300.00
A 150-300 hp plate system for fuel injection is about $700.00
Hope this helps.
