RE: Oil pressure questions?
you're probably OK waiting a while, it's just that stock gauges with no numbers on them can be very inaccurate sometimes. if you can find a shop that will hook up a good gauge on a tee in the line so your stock gauge stills reads out, then you can make a note of what the pressure is at various spots on the stock gauge so you won't be guessing what the pressure really is. the guys at autozone got it wrong too, I'd much rather have high pressure than low pressure. irregardless of what anybody else tells you, if the idiot light comes on saying low oil pressure, stop the car right away on the side of the road shut the engine off and don't try to drive it anymore as this can really ruin the bearings in the engine and make for a big repair bill. (assuming you aren't running from somebody trying to do you harm!)

Disclaimer: Before you read the following story understand that in no way am I suggesting that what I am about to post is a good idea or in anyway acceptable.
My first car was a 86 2.3 Mustang LX. I used to run that thing so low on oil that it would loose power, make a bunch of noise and have trouble starting. Someone told me to check the oil and sure enough there was none in there. I think I remember a cloud out dust coming out of the dip stick tube when I took it out[sm=smiley5.gif]. That car was indistructable.

yeah I've seen the old trick where they put a brick on the accelerator and run the engine with no oil and it is amazing how long it will run before it goes BOOM!
KINDA GOOD TO KNOW YOU COULD DO IT IF YOU REALLY HAD TO TO GET OUT OF A BAD SPOT, BUT DEFINITELY NOT A RECOMMENDED PRACTICE.
