AOD questions?

AOD questions?
My GT has an AOD trans, when at a complete stop, it sometimes acts as if its in nuetral? you give it gas and it takes about 2-3 seconds for it to kick into gear, but after that it shifts great and smooth.... what are the possible causes? and what can be done?

i have a 89 Auto LX 5.0 blue with gears and ALL new Exhaust (BBK,American Thunder Cats!) All these mustangs really need is wheels! LOL well yeah try and check your fluid level and it could possibly be a sign of the trans sttarting to go out?
