changing the face of your tach??? dont get what youre trying to say... RPM=Revolutions Per Minite that your engine is running... your engine has a limit=redline... [:-]

i see what your saying.... unless you changed the internals/valves and stuff of your engine, your redline will be the exact same as before..... trust the stock gauges, not aftermarket on your true redline....

after market tachs have adjustable redlines.... that is, you move the marker to where your car redlines.... as far as a stock engine goes, your mfgr knows where the redline is and your stock tach will reflect it...

The redline on the face dosn't mean that your motor actually redlines at 6g. All motors are different. Just get on your car in 2nd gear and see where it stops pulling, and that will be your particular redline... Synyster

Now that's scientific.... i wonder if ford uses this method when the design their engines...

Well, My stock gauge says that my redline is 6g, But my motor peaks at 6800. Even stock motors are different. My first Stang said 6g, but it only pulled to 5800. If you wan't to shift where Ford tell you to, then go ahead, but if you car stops pulling at 5500, or even 6100, your losing power... Don't have to be a scientist to figure that out... Synyster

Well good luck... I know how my engine is built (very strong) an i aint gonna run it to 6800...
