ahh ok thanks guys. thats some good info and was much appreciated. going to look at a 92 monday. if everything looks good ill be driving it home. the only info i know on it right now is it a 5.0 with a 6speed. im guessing thats not factory so im guessing that there have been other mods done to it also.

Yeah jeep, that's the highway and it is twisty. It's way fun in the mustang and in momma's vette.

Actually, 88 was the last of the speed density. 89 was the first of the mass air meters. And my '86 (now parts car) has quad shocks.

I stand corrected, though my '86 GT didn't have quad shocks. Was the de-rated horsepower apply to '87-92 Stangs as well?

What do you mean by de-rated HP? You are correct about the '86 only having 205 HP, but the '87 shot up to 225 I believe.<edited><editID>converted</editID><editDate>37783.472337963</editDate></edited>

The funny thing is my 93 has always seemed faster, even with less horse than the 87. Could be the weight, could be the gearing, who knows...</P>

My guess is the weight. Notch is lighter than a hatch and the GT has all that extra ground effects to boot.

Yeah, through '92 they were 225hp but the '93 was back down to 205. Something to do with the swap to hyper-pathetic pistons as I recall.
