well... i know its overpriced. but I've found its hard to find good stangs for good prices around where I live. Plus, eventually I want to do a 351 build, so I could care less about how much power it has stock. If i get another stang, all I want really is good paint, good body, and I'm really starting to lean towards a 4-eyed... and t-tops would be cool.

For 5K you could find something alot nicer w/ less mileage. BUT if 4 eyes are your thing than I guess its all comes down to how bad you want it.

its 200 hp, and its not CFI,its the same FI on all 87-93 stangs. its got cyclone swirl cylinder heads and flat topped pistons, so youve got to notch them to get aftermarket heads. in 87 they changed the heads resulting in the 25 hp boost...

5K is too much for a 86.

Unless its a really clean body.

86 motor is no good with its flat top pistons and crappy flowing heads. 7.5" rear

if you're going to do a 351 swap, get a late model 4 cyl.

if you like 4 eyes, then i dunno, get an 85 GT.

Unless the body is super good (show) dont pay 5K

its too much

you are incorrect, 86 was the first year for the 8.8 and the 10.5 inch clutch too

i just bought a '86 gt hatchback. i got mine for 3200. The car is rust free. the motor is a 68 302 block. It's bored .40 over with flat top pistons that are custom cut for valve clearence. Has 351 heads with 2.02"/1.60" stainless valves,ARP studs and guide plates,Comp push rods, springs, retainers,Cam,And polished lifters and gear drive timing. it has BBK 2.5" H-pipe,BBK chrome shorty headers,Flow master 2.5" exhaust system,BBK manifold spacer,BBK underdrive aluminum pulleys,March aluminum power steering pulley,Centerfrcoe dual friction clutch, subframe connectors and 5lug conversion rotors. maybe check for a better deal?
