Default Replacing the fuel filter help?

I am interested in replacing my fuel filter in my car (88 GT Hatchback) and was wondering if someone could tell me where the fuel filter is located and what is involved in replacing it? Thanks.

the fuel filter is just in front of the gas tank. to take it out u just need to pull out the two plastic clips and slide the hoses off. then just put the new one on the same way with the new plastic clips. it is a very easy job.

Thanks for the quick response. I plan to replace mine hopefully this weekend. I just bought the car a couple months ago and figured this would be a good maintenance thing to do.

Yea, its definetly not a bad idea. I just baught my 93 a few weeks ago. There are no problems w/ the car right now but I dont know when the last time it was replaced so I rather prevent something from happening than wait until it does happen and have problems.

Its very simple. Be sure to depresurize the system using the schreader (sp) valve. Also be prepare to get covered in gas.

+1

Bring the old filter down even cause it stays full of gas. I tiped it and got a chest full of gas. Not nice!

Why not.... I love changing fuel filters with a lit cig in my mouth while pouring gas all over myself... are you crazy?!?

Why we are on the subject.... how do you depressurize the system?
