Default Dyno Tune

I'm installing 30 lb. injectors tomorrow, along with the appropriate MAF sampling tube and FMU plate, and when I asked my mechanic if he knew a tuner, he didn't seem to think a tune was necessary. Two questions, what all do they do in a tune and any idea what my timing and fuel pressure should be based on the set up in my sig?

What I guess would be important to know, is I have a 5 psi blower, C&L 73 MM MAF, 70 MM TB, TF Street Upper/lower intake.

a mechanic is the last person id ask about info on performance parts/tuning.

whenever you install a sc its a good idea to get a dyno tune. you cant tune a car with fuel pressure so just set it ant 42psi and leave it alone. tuning should be done by adjusting pulse width.

Got it and he's a good mechanic, but obviously not knowledgable about the benefits of a tune.

I'll take your advice on fuel pressure and any idea as to what is involved in a tune?

Just curious.

On a completely different note, I just installed an AFPR gauge to the fuel rail and the liquid inside the gauge leaked out a bit. I guess I got a little to aggessive with trying to tighten it by hand and I loosened up the the bezel a bit. It's not falling off or anything.

Any idea if this will effect how it works if the fluid runs out? I think it's just in the gauge to make the readout appear closer to the top of the glass, but I might be wrong.

I know this is a completely bizarre question, but this forum is full of them.

liquid 'in' the quage is (to the best of my knowledge) to prevent the needle from bouncing around (to different readings). IF I'm right, the fluid leakage you have should hurt anything (except now your needle will bounce drastically).

Just my opinion, but I think thats what it's for.

Thanks and that's exactly what I was looking for. It's still about 1/2 full and seems to be steady, but I just wondered if anyone had an idea what happens if it completely drains out. No big deal, but I figured I'd throw it out there.
