Default box style upper intake

Does anybody have any experience w/ these??? As soon as I sell my '02 I'm going to be looking to build a fox body. I'm planning on building a supercharged setup. I've heard that these intakes work well with superchargers and are lighter than the full upper intake.

You are correct, they are made for high RPM horspower, whenever you buy either a cam, heads, or intake that flows in the upper RPM range you will always loose your bottom end torque and hp. If its a street car I would pass as we all know torque rules the streets!

I think a large majority of hyd. roller street cars are not going to be able to take advantage of the rpm range these intakes benefit. But cubic inch will also bring down the rpm range, so it may not be that extreme on a supercharged 6500rpm 347.

On my 408w the comp cams box upper is great.

I don't think the comp cam upper would be that great with boost though.

Box intakes are for very high rpm power. Not much good on the street. while the other guy is pulling away with all his low end torque...your still winding the hell out of rpms for power...by the time you start making power he's gone. Unless your making a 600+hp dragster thats going to catch the guy no matter what. LOL
