Supercharger/Heads
OK Well, I am going to be supercharging my car soon. I will either be running a SC Trim or a Novi 1000 w/ a pulley upgrade putting out about 8-10psi. What heads would be best to work w/ my STOCK motor. I cannot go with the 185's so would the 165's be OK? But I recently heard that the TW's flow better than the 165's and are a few hundred cheaper. Is there any modifications I would have to do to get the TW's to clear? Thanks.

TW clear fine and dandy even on a stock flat top shortblock ( which are readily available at loads of scrap yards) I would jump at them before AFR any day, they have loads of material to take out if you ever want to port them, the springs are not bad from the factory on par with AFR, and they are CHEAP. I myself if I had the money would buy a set of them High Ports, they look bad ***!

I just want something thats going to perform and ALSO be able to have some room to grow considering I am running a blower...
So you think those are the heads I should go with?

Yeah, you can't beat the trick flow dollar for dollar, other than edelbrocks which I have a pair of and the quality is awesome springs are a bit better than the TW's, but either or you still have room to grow with both, all you have to do is send them out to a machine shop when your engine is ready for some more air. Hey dude did you buy a new ride?

Yea man! 93 GT 5.0 84K. I just picked it up about two weeks ago. It was 100% original down to the air silencer and alternator! That only lasted for about 2 days though. I already put a new rad in, new alt, msd cap & rotor, ignition wires, removed silencer, bumped timing, TF street heat, and a few small other things. Its going well so far
Money though really isnt a problem. Put it this way, if you were building a 302 w/ a Novi 1000 or a SC trim what heads would you go with (money not being an issue). But just remember... they have to fit without modifications.

Oh yeah another thing to remember is the combustion chamber CC's if you are blowing the car you want a higher CC chamber ei 62 rather 58 to lower the compression ratio a bit so you can run more boost, plus if the 58cc heads (AFR) ever warp and need to be milled that would turn them into a crazy low CC chamber leading to the pistons needing to be fly cut
