Default vale train noise??

ok well i got a new motor and ever since i got it started its been making this same noise. like a clicking noise from the right rocker cover/head. i got all new parts pushrods, roller rockers, hydrualic lifters, custom cam. well i took it to the guy where i got the motor from and well he has ajusted the rockers same noise he changed them same noise, he changed the lifters same noise?? now he says its normal but i dont think so. its only coming from one side. now he says its just how it is but if so wouldnt it be coming from the other side aswell??. and when the cars warms up it get louder.?? and yes i have oil pressure just wondering if anyone has come across this. im thinking that it can be the cam or mabe one of the oil passages could be blocked blocking oil flow...?? anyone pls help i feeling like smashing every window and trowing it off a cliff.

and the motor is a 396 stroker
scat crank
H beam rods
JE pistons
victor JR intake
avenger CNC ported stage 2 cylinder heads
custom grind hydrulic roller cam shaft

sure its not a header leak cause i would have a loud ticking noise from the right side on my 308 and i replaced the gasket and it went away just an idea.

I would guess that is he went thru and replaced all those parts that he would have checked those gaskets, but I think it might be that also, or a bad header(broke weld or crack)

Very possible. I had a bad "tick" that I could not for the life of me find. I readjusted the valvetrain, reasdjusted again just slightly tighter than proper spec, checked the valvecover \baffles for contact marks from the roller rockers, searched for exhaust leaks, & no luck. Then by shear accident mind you; I replaced my set of Mac headers with a new set of ceramic headers. I inspected the "old" mac header & to my suprise found a hairline fracture at the bottom of the #4 tube right at the merge collector(shorty header). Mounted on the motor & at an idle; there was no way to feel exhaust air & no way to see it since the fracture matched the weld line.....

P.S. Light ticking with "true" roller rockers,(not pedistal mounts), seem to be normal. At least at an idle..... Once rpm increases; the rocker noise seems to go away or be drowned out by the exhaust note IMHO.......

could be a valve guide or bent valve, bad lifter preload or not adjusted right, or a rocker is hitting the cover? Maybe you got a shorter push rod on one of them. It could be anything. How did you check the headers for cracks? Maybe your fan is hitting the shroud. Header to H pipe? You have your emission stuff on, maybe that is leaking or a bad smog pump....it is endless
