BINGO!....the key component of the combo.....$$$ .....and yes, it's possible...if you can do this ~300hp build with ¢¢¢, non-roller block or cam, off-the-shelf components and no special performance parts....IT IS possible.

My 306 was on an engine dyno this past winter.
It did go about 420 HP @ 6800 with race gas........
Not realley a high dollar motor but a carefully built one......

Go to AFR's web site. You will see a combo with AFR 185 heads, 1 and 3/4 inch long tube headers, 650 demon carb and a 282 he extreme roller comp cam(hydraulic) Victor jr intak and 306 inches(,030 over 302) that made 455 HP @ 6100 rpm with motor only. Low 11's with a 4.10 gear and a 5 spd. with all the right traction stuff for sure. I would post the build and it is not super expensive but I am away on Vacation and the info is on my PC at home.
