The Block can only handle about 450-500 hp. So thats about 10lbs of boost.

Well I meant safley, you go above 500 your liable to split the block in half. Its like pokeing at a pitbull with a stick, one of these days that pitbull is going to poke back.

I haven't upgraded my pistons or rods, and when I install my twisted wedge heads and roller rockers, I should be near 500 hp at the flywheel. That's running approx. 11 psi boost on my powerdyne...

ROFLMAO!!! Great analogy!
But your right. Stock blocks that see more then 500rwhp are on borrowed time. I've seen blocks split with less.

with an intercooler you can run more safely, but yes, only about 500 or so hp on stock block. Some guys run 550-600 but thats really taking a chance. I know some guys running 620 on a stock 5.0 block, the'yre very lucky though, some blocks will last months or years, others split in like two weeks. How you tune it has alot to do with it also, especially the rpms you turn. But my opinion is if you start doing alot, like 12psi or more to that stock bottom end, those rod bolts arnt going to like it for very long. ATI made an almost completely bone stock 5.0 run 11.7 running a D1SC with an intercooler and 17psi with a set of MT ET's. But you can already imagine that would only last for about 5 runs or so before the rings and rod bearings started getting damaged.
