Default Stroker Questions???????????

If going from a stock 302 to a DSS 331 Stoker kit will I need to rebalance the block along with replace the flywheel? Also any other advice or cautions would be greatly appreciated. I am aware of the option of going to 351W just curious of what needs to be done for the stroker to be completed correctly.

Thank you.

you gotta balance no matter what you are building, you can use your current flywheel

balancing is necessary, but keep in mind you are balancing the rotating assembly, and it has nothing to do with the block. you can use your stock flywheel and buy a new 50oz harmonic balancer but you may want to go with a 28.8oz (imbalance) flywheel and harmonic balancer. it is a popular change. when i built my 347 i had the rotating assembly shipped already neutrally balanced. this means all the pistons weigh exactly the same, same with the rods and the crank has been shaved. this eliminates you taking it to the machine shop and having them put the rotating assembly together and having them spin it and balance it against a counterbalanced flywheel and balancer. i just bought a flywheel and harmonic balancer with no counterweights and it is extremely smooth.
