Takes about 4-5 hours to port an aluminum intake, even more for a stock 5.0 or Cobra intake, you have to cut the upper in half then port it and weld it back together. I like porting aluminum better, its easier than cast iron. Takes less time, dont have to press so hard, burrs last longer, etc. Yep, its pretty exspensive. to have intakes ported. I did mine at home under a shade tree. One trick you can use, is to take the water hose from your hose pipe and spray water down the port...kinda gives you a little idea how to work on the port intakes and exits. Worked for me, you can really see how the water wants to exit the port, not exact science but it helped me. Especially on the 4 corner ports, the way they twist before the exit, most of the flow is to one side of the port, so i straightened that wall ALOT. Helped even the flow out through the whole port. But good luck, try it on a cheap stock intake first.
