Depends on how much highway driving you do and how fast you cruise on the highway. If you run 80-90 (or faster) get 3.55's, But if you dont drive that fast then +1 to 91LX 4.10's AOD, 3.73 - T-5.

i have 3.55s and im turnin 2400rpm at 75mph. I think you'd be happy with 3.73s.

+1

I think there's already a sticky for gear installation, but I agree - there should be a sticky comparing 3.73s vs. 4.10s (possibly including 3.55s), and the pros and cons associated with each. This question comes up far too often.

Its going to be a street/strip car. I drive it like 4 times a week if that. Im problebly going to go with the 3:73s. If I can get this thing to go low 13s with mild bolt ons I'll be happy. I plan on going to the track once I do the gears and get the trans fixed. (syncros are bad!)

yeah see I was curious too cause I have an 87 gt with a 5spd, and I plan to do the following..

lots of city driving, barely any highway driving EXCEPT for when I go to the track.. I would like ot see track time atleast 1-2 time a month..

I plan to auto X once a year too..

in saying this should I go wiht 3.73 or 4.10?

i say 4.10

i'm on my second car w/ 4.10's and would never go 3.73 unless i was twin screw or turbo

i still get 21.xx mpg on every fillup, 50 miles a day to and from work.

mpg diff from the 2 is probably 1 mpg only and 250-300 r's tops

I do plan to either supercharge or turbocharge (prolly go super) on the 5.0... do u still think I should go with 4.10 or should I go 3.73?

again I do hardly any highway mostly intow crusing.. abotu 95% intown.. highway is only if I go to the track, or up to a buddies far away.. again very seldom do I do either
