Default 3:73s or 4:10s?

Im fairly new to the world of forums but I decided to register to this one because I have a ton of things I want to do to my mustang. One of them being gears. I have a 1990 gt with a t5. I have a 26' tire in the rear. What am I looking at as far as RPMs with 4:10s? I do alot of highway driving so would 3:73s be a little more ideal?

if you do alot of highway driving get 3.73's, for rpm and gas mileage but if your just looking to get a good gear for the track get a 4:10. i had a 3.73 in the car when i bought it and love it.

4:10's will have high rpms while on interstate. but 3.73 are not that bad and they still give you alot more take off than stock.

with 4.10's at 70mph in 5th gear you will be at 2500 rpm

with 3.73 at 70mph in 5th gear you will be at 2200 rpm

4:10 at 80mph is 2900 rpm

3.73 at 80mph is 2600 rpm

this is according to a calculator using the tire diameter you give me... could be a little different

not a big difference in rpm range between the two gears but you will notice a whole lot of difference at the track...

if your not going to run it at the track alot and mainly street drive it i say 3.73 but if your going to take it to the track alot i would go with 4.10.

if oyureally look at the rpm differance its NOT THAT MUCH....so ide get the taller gear, get a lil more pull, pay a few more bucks!

If you do a lot of highway driving, get the 3.73s. They're a great all-around gear, and it still pulls hard in every gear. I have 3.73s and I love them!
