startup, maybe not
I havent posted for a while because I got orders to deploy to Iraq in Oct. so I've been having to put little things into perspective. Anyways here the new problem.
I drove the stang for about a half hour yesterday. Then later at night (6 hours later prolly) I went to start the car, and it cranked and fired great but then its like it went through one whole cycly of all 8 cyl. firing and died... It started up and it just winded down, its hard to tell if the starter is not disengaging because it sounds like its still firing while it is winding down to a halt do to the exhaust. I cant really tell if its a gear noise or the exhaust. It could be a sensor or something else failing but its pouring out today and dont feel like messing with it in the rain. I can get more info on here when the rain stops but until then, it starts up so its got fuel and spark....I'm leaning toward the starter not disengaging but could be wrong.
I love the foxbody, but I'm leaning toward ditching it when I get back from Iraq in the fall of 07 and getting either a 99GT or a 96-98 Cobra, I'm sick of all the occuring problems(even though its gonna happen in a modded car) and the cars in ****ty condition, fixable but it'll take patience. If I can find a cobra for a decent price when I get back I'll Novi-charge that and should be plenty content. Anyone have any clues on the above problem?

RE: startup, maybe not
Hold the throttle open part way while starting and see if that hepls....My car did that the other day while I was setting base idle when I unplugged the idle air control. My throttle was closed too far.
