I'm talking a stock motor, what would have come in a 5.0 brand new....
if I end up having to replace the motor in my 'stang cause of this tick there is no way in hell I can afford a $3500 engine. That's as much as I paid for the car.

What kind of tick are you hearing you sure it's not just the lifters? How do you know it's the engine.....usually you will hear knocking sound if it's the engine.

look in the yellow pages under engine rebuilders.
local shop should quote you about $1,600-$2,000 for a "stock" rebuild with 3yr/36k warranty including all labor

A friend of mine has a stock motor from his 93 5.0 with under 100k on it. Ran great when he took it out to put a crate motor in. He will sell it for cheap! PM me if you want his phone number ect.
