the benefit of mass air is it adapts better to engine mods than speed density.

Speed density is what you and I have in our cars. Basically, air just pours into the motor without a sensor detecting the amount air being brought into the motor. sdmaker is absolutly correct in saying your motor will adapt to engine mods better than speed density. Some might disagree but mass air is really only critical in a moderatley to heavily modded engine. I've been running speed density since day one and my car is pretty quick it ran a 13.80 1/4 before the back half of the exhaust/GT40 intake/Drag radials were put on. I would say focus your $$ on something else for now anyway.

yea the benifet of MAF only rewards itself if ur modified and tuning because u can control the amount of air going into the motor

mass air is only needed if you go with a big cam, my 86 is still speed density, and I even have an aftermarket cam. you can even have a supercharger on speed density
