I've had an Excalliper on mine for 12 years. Only once in that time has the brain had to be replaced. No problems other than that.

vipers are very good sensors AND they work off dual shock sensers so unlike factory alrms hey will sound if someone hits or rbumps your car hard enough, as well as that senser being tunable ot as sensative as you like.

another benafit of the viper systems is you can add on various component to an auxillery switch like a window roll up button/remote start/ heated seats all from a controll pad..

yeah ide get one they are owrth it

I have CODE ALARM. It was a gift for me and came with remote start. All together it was like 360. The alarm is very responsive and loud too. Even if a car with a loud exhaust goes by, the alarm goes crazy. I also have a killswitch and a club. Makes thieves think twice....but if somebody wants it that bad, im sure they will get it.

No offense guys but that is my take on it...........I had a viper on a 88 IROC and it was stolen in the parking lot right where I slept!! They found the car 2 weeks later in California with NOTHING on it (not even the viper). I was in New Orleans so I am sure there are enough experienced theifs there (or were!) but they got it!

Insurance paid enough for some bad *** MODS though!

Car audio shops are a better bet. Best buy and Circut City are hacks. They trashed my wifes car when the hooked up the head unit we got for her car and they didnt even hook up the antenna. I would look around. I have a factory ford alarm. I hid my siren and have a kill switch as well. I dont have anything special in it as far as guages or sound system so I could care less as long as it dosent get stolen.
