Default gear oil

hey guys, i was told to check my gear oil there is a plug on the back left side but i cant find it, how can i check my gear oil, where exactly is the plug???

get your butt under the rear and look*L*..it is a recess plug so a rachet can be used to pull it out..just look closer

it is just above the large rib on the left side of the front housing, it could be covered up with crud, so poke around with a screwdrive and you will find it. use a 3/8 ratchet extension in the recessed square hole to take the plug out and be prepared to have some oil run out if it is too full. with the rear end level, the correct level is just up to the bottom of the fill hole, just be sure the rear end is level side to side when you check it.

he probably can't see it because of that dampener that Ford hangs on the stang reardiffs and it is right in the line of sight for the plug
