turbo 5.0!?
Hey guys, i'll try to keep it easy i know no one wants to read a wall of text. I currently own a 05 srt-4 i like it but i don't think i wanna keep driving it. I want something more i guess. Anywho, i have been looking into get a gt mustang vert. 92-93 hopefully. Only problem is i can't drive a non-turbo car; i love turbos. I saw there are bolt on turbo kits. And i was just wondering if any of you forum regulars had heard anything about them. I don't want a car i have to tune for 3 hours to drive for 30 seconds, i don't want 1,500HP I'd be happy with around 500. I want to be able to drive it on the weekends and such. Save the flames, thanks in advance.

Here's a couple links to threads about my turbo 5.0 if you're looking for some info. I'm running the Hellion kit (www.hellionpowersystems.com). There's a couple other guys on here running different kits as well.

RE: turbo 5.0!?
500 hp out of stock 5.0 block is pushing it to the limit and the rest of your drivetrain will be maxed out also with that kind of power. Most people do a supercharger to the 5.0 on the forums but a few have a turbo on them. Do a search and see what you get and welcome to the forums

RE: turbo 5.0!?
Stock 5.0 block max HP is about 500 horses, so you'd be pushing it there. An '88(or is it '87?) - '92 stock bottom end might be enough for you, simply because they're forged, although i wouldn't put money on it. '93s don't have a forged bottom end. New heads, intake, transmission. Best bet would be to find one that someone already did everything to and save yourself a couple thousand dollars.

Wow guys, Thanks for all the help. I think you've all really pushed me in the right direction. With me leaning towards a vert. I'd probley weight around about 3800 if i removed unnessesary seats and spare tires, etc. What kind of 1/4 or 60ft times would i be looking at with around 450horses.

RE: turbo 5.0!?
you shouldnt weight that much, probably close to 3,400 lbs.
probably run low 11's to high 10's with that kinda power.
figure 11.00 flat for avg.
Notches are the best body, but hey sometimes it worth the headaches
to be able to go topless
