Dont try to take the alt off first or you'll have to duck and cover. The BELT has over 100 ft. lbs. of tension on it. Just do what the others said.

you dont even need the socket wrench, just lever a breaker bar between the two pullies of the auto-tensioner
and push. its just spring loaded, hold it for a sec and slip belt off. takes about 3 secs to do.

Yes it does. The tensioner is down under the ac on. You'll probably need a braker bar and socket to reach it safely. A fox has the tensioner rihgt up top so its easier to reach.
