Default Low-Budget upgrades for a '94 GT..?

I'm pretty well poor (lol), but I'm looking to put a little bit back into my '94 GT Convertible. Suggestions would be nice. I'm not looking to go completely insane with this. If I could boost it up to the specs of a Cobra (eventually), that'd be fantastic, but I don't know.. I'm fully expecting this to be a multi-year project.

I was actually thinking about starting off with some suspension work, as mine seems to have an issue currently. When I drive over rough patches of asphalt, I hear a rattling sound, seemingly coming from the back somewhere. I took the stang in today to have tires rotated and they said they didn't see anything loose. My suspension is probably shot, but I really don't know. If I *were* going to do suspension work, what would be the best route to take?

Suggestions welcomed. Again, I'm just looking for some improved performance, a smoother ride, and a little TLC into my '94 stocker. I'd like to not be shameful at the track (the last time out, I ran a horrendous 14.95, so laugh away. Low 13s would be probably about as fast as I ever intend to take this thing), but that's probably a ways away yet..

Thanks.

Oh. And one other thing..This car has been in my family since 1997, and it's been babied most of that time, so while the mileage (112k) is slightly high, it's had it pretty easy for the most part. Nevertheless, that pretty much rules out ridiculous add-ons like superchargers, turbos, et al..

I know u said you wanted to start w/suspension work. But for performance a full exhaust worked out the best. I just got a 95 and there is so much work to be done. Plenty of fun

I have been starting with little by little bolt ons. Like cold air intake, exhaust, pullys... and so on. My suspension was a big hit I took though, it was about 2500.00 so far and more upgrades to install yet. And ended up spending alot on it a few weeks ago. New clutch, flywheel, shifter, hpipe, front and rear mains. I thought to myself, I'll just do a few things to get it sounding good and all, but it is addicting (kinda like this forum). I am currently saving up to have my motor rebuilt at the end of this summe to a 331, it is endless. I am sure after a while that wont be fast enough. Good luck!

My biggest problem, like I said, is that even though I want the performance boost right now, I'm worried about the condition of my suspension. Clearly, it shouldn't be rattling when I go over bumpy terrain... :|

You can get some Eibach springs/shocks/struts, Maximum Motorsports control arms (upper and lower), MM subframe connectors (as PX429 said), sway bars, bushings, end links... the list for suspension mods goes on and on.

Intake (cold air induction and throttle body) and any part of the exhaust is a cheap mod to the 94. I have a 94 myself; it's a lot of fun

For $180, I figured I'd make that my first mod...thoughts?
