the bottom of the tranny is spray painted orange. is this paint covering the vin?

fastfox86, can you post a before pic of your shifter with the AOD, and then an after pic with the T-5 swap and its shifter?

well that AOD swap just suprises the poop out of me. never would have thought of that. I just thought someone did a poor job when they installed a new clutch.

So where can I find the vin on the tranny?

welcome to the club...my car was hit from behind....i dunno how bad it was but my shifter is to the passenger side also...as for the engine ...it also looks like it is cocked to the side a little...but the guy said he put a cobra transmission in it...so maybe it is because of the swap?it was really frustrating putting on my new polyurethene trans mount today...it didnt line up too well...maybe my motor mounts are messed up???how much will it cost to replace those?

No vin on the tranny, sorry. You've got a few things you should fix or have fixed. You're clutch fork and pressure plate are rusting the F*** out. You need to replace those before you HAVE to replace them. Parts will be ~$200 total for HD clutch fork and Ram HD clutch kit. While you have your driveshaft off, replace the Ujoints ($30 for both)...

As far as your car, mine is similar, but was cut out by the guy that did the T5 swap into it, so the shifter hole is bigger and my shifter is now somewhat centered. Use a Dremmel or sawzall and open it up some....
