it's going to be a bad *** motor regardless...as long as you get the tune right.

You guys are underating this motor. The Ford 347 Crate Engine is about the same engine as the one he has. The ford 347 has 9.0.1 compression, hes got 11.0.1, the Ford 347 has smaller heads than his 185's. The Ford 347 makes 450 BHP so 475 HP for his motor is easily atainable
I'm actually down playing his cam quite a bit. If he had said it was an Ed Curtis or Jay Allen cam, I'd have given him about 20-30rwhp more credit. I don't have much faith in the $10/hr. cam tech line/vo-tech dropouts though. I'm also lowering my guess because of his AOD-E. An AFR headed, custom cammed, EFI 347 should be good for 400+rwhp, but that requires a lot of attention to detail most people don't have.

cool i was guessing around the 350 rwhp mark. So you reccomend a ed curtis cam? I have it all torn apart right now and wouldnt mind spending another $300 for another 20-30 rwhp. Thanks again for all the replies.

Ed Curtis and Jay Allen both do a bunch of business. Ed Curtis seems to do a lot of work with AFR headed combos too. I have never used Ed Curtis though. All I personally can tell you about him is I never reached him on the phone after several attempts and he never returned my email. I have since bought 3 cams from Jay Allen. I could tell you a LOT of great stuff about Jay. His customer service is excellent. I would highly recommend Jay.

Ed will downplay that hes not hard to get ahold of, unless your in his inner circle of people. Go with jay and this added perk http://sbftech.com/index.php/topic,235.0.html
