if you are its not a good idea. The taurus fan uses 40 amps thats more than half of the highest output the stock puts out. You would be risking breaking down or components not operating correctly.

your fan clutch is probably bad if fan is real loud, replaced mine and sounds wisper quiet now.
takes about 15mins and dont even have to take the belt off. part cost aobut $60

i have already replaced the fan clutch. when i got the car a few years ago, the stock fan clutch bearings were shot, fan wobbled so much it was starting to rub on the fan shroud, lol.
