The pressure actually dropped down to the Low line on the stock gauge when it was idleing like it was missing. Then goes back up when driving.
Just to be clear, you mean the lowest line--as in the first line from the bottom? For reference, my needle at its lowest (at idle), reaches a hair below the halfway line. At it's highest point (say, on the highway), it reaches a hair below the next line up from the halfway line. Not to jack, but does that sound like normal pressure?

One comment about your car, Titanium: If the car was missing, and the idle dropped, wouldn't that cause a drop in oil pressure?

Well my needle at idle was just above the half way and running was just a hair under the line above the half ( roughly 3/4 line). That is what I was asking about the timing having anything to do with oil pressure because when it was missing and RPM's went down alittle that's when the pressure drop to the Low line.

Also after this happening I will definately get some aftermarket oil pressure gauge. I will make a seperate post to see how difficult it is to install and which gauges are better and what should the pressures be normally. Like what grabbem said " cold start up i run 55-60 psi after warm up it drops down to 45-50,and when i run the bejeebish out of it it has dropped to 35psi at idle which is fine...you need for every 1000rpm 10psi of oil pressure. "

ive had my gauge drop to the L and my cars not missing or anything and dosnt burn any oil

it went back up but and it still "operates" or works if u wanna say that but i dont feel it is accurate but it moves.. so theres got to be some kind of pressure.

ive had problems with all the gauges except for the tach.

speedo bounces
gas gauge is off
volt gauge ticks sometimes (batt is fully charged and alt is new)
temp gauge is off

gotta love the ford instrument cluster

If RPM drops than your oil pressure will drop too because your cam is turning slower. You said it started scipping and the RPM went down, so wouldn't that be normal for oil pressure to go down. Don't worry about the pressure till you fix the scip , and then recheck pressure. just my 2cent

no it does not..don't sell b.s. if you're not 100% sure what's going on...

like i said before ford clearance is loose..so when the oil warms up...what happens???the oil stretches i.e. viscosity....his bottem end is fine.

I appreciate all your feedback guys....so I decided I will get new spark plugs (I will just get motorcraft ones) clean out the distributor cap and re-adjust the timing. I will eventually get some good aftermarket oil pressure guage. Then I can see from there, what's going on. If that doesn't do it I may just a mild cam and then change out the bearing in process. Take it one step at a time. I don't really want to put a cam in with stock heads and intake but would it matter if I did. Eventually I will get heads and intake just not this year.
