hey i just bought an alluminum ds and yolks. it was assembled allready. i pulled my old one out. then i started to put the new one in and it wouldnt fit. so i compared the two and the ujoint that goes into the tranny had different grooves than the original. the allum ds is also a little shorter. Will an inch difference be bad if i got a ujoint to fit in the tranny? i was told it was for a 87-93 stang so i was wondering if the ds's are different in an auto and manuals. please help..... Thanks

Where did you get the aluminum driveshaft from and do you have a manual or auto?

yeah i have a manual i just got it from a private seller!

How much did you pay? I got mine from Summit for like 125 and it fit just fine.

on summit, i checked if there was a length difference between the aod and t-5 d/s's

and they were both the same length..so idk what happened man

i just installed my ford racing aluminum d/s and the grooves matched up perfectly and the length was on point.

The only problem stevens is that he bought his from a private seller so it could be a driveshaft for anything.

I bought it for a good price. well are the teeth different or anything? or maybe he sold me one for a 94 and up.. is their a difference between those 5.0s and the fox body styles??? thanks for the help
