Default Cam install

ok i was thinking about putting a cam in my car and i was wondering if you hav to pull the motor to install a cam or can u just take off the radiator and front end and do it that way? Also how many hours do u think it would take to do?

you sould be able to do it but you gotta pull alot of the accessories in the front. as well as fan and radiator

And the lower intake, to get the lifters out not sure if you can do it without yanking it but I always do it anyways.

Or you can buy the magnetic rods from Anderson Ford Motorsports so you don't have to pull the lower intake. Still have to remove the upper, valve covers, rockers and pushrods though. It's basically a threaded rod with a strong magnet on the end that you pass thorugh the pushrod holes to grab the lifters. It's held up with a wing nut.

I dont recommend this for the inexperienced, one slip and its all down hill

Remove upper/lower intake, remove valve covers, remove alt, water pump, remove dist, remove balancer (need a puller for this) remove rad ( drain first), remove pushrods, lifters, timing chain cover, timing chain (don't let fall into oil pan), remove cam retainer, remove cam, reverse process to install. Not really in that order but you get the idea.
