Default H Pipes

this is probly a dumb question, but again im new when it comes to mustangs. what exactly is an H pipe? i know its exhaust but what exactly is it? i was looking through a magazine, summit or something, and it said that H pipes were strictly for racing. is that true?

Default RE: H Pipes

The H-pipe is the mid pipe that goes in between the headers and the cat back. They say the OFF ROAD h-pipe is strictly for off road use only because it comes wit no cats on it so it wont pass emissions. But most people do it anyways. They go through emissions with the stock h-pipe on the car and after they passed the swap the O/R h-pipe on, then when they have to go back for emissions they swap the stock one back one....
