I have an x pipe on my car. I don't think theres anything raspy about it with flowmasters. Heres a vid of mine doing a flyby: http://media.putfile.com/86-Mustang-Driveby

Heres another one where you can here my exhaust : http://media.putfile.com/86-Mustang-Big-Burnout

Yeah thats an off road x, I'm not going for incredibly loud, if I was I would have gotten slp's or glass packs. I'm running just plain old american thunder flowmasters.

ORIGINAL: PX429

h give you better torque

x gives you better HP

Prochamber is the best of both worlds
I thought this too, but I'm not sure how. the X pipe forces the exhaust together which seems like it would increase backpressure, which would seem to increase torque but lose HP, right? and the H should give better top end HP and less tq at the bottom end. My friend did a dyno test with a race motor at his school and the H gave better top end HP, so idk what to believe. Maybe thats why i went w/ the Prochamber

accually the x pipe keeps power at higher rpms then h pipe h gives a deeper sound where as x gives a higher pitched sound. self racing here in town, and bill spence engines here say that... and they race cars..and build race engines... x pipe is a new er desighn

Like what everone says it's like 2 HP difference won't noticed that at all....so it comes down to sound preference.

I have an H-pipe on my '66 GT, and I love the sound of it, like was said it's a deeper, smoother tone. My '89 has An x pipe, and I like the sound of that as well, it's more of an aggressive, higher pitched, almost ripping sound.
