LX's were faster due to excessive 'trim'

Think the GT's only had a Suspension, and Body difference
other than that same everything

the LX's are seriously faster? im looking for a car thats as fast as possible for as cheap as possible. what do you recommend? the LX over the GT? i'll probly be doing some mods so would it be better in the long run to get the GT with the better suspension?

Your best bet would be to probably get an LX Notchback(the fox body stang with a trunk)
theyre the lightest out of them all

I went with the GT because, for one I love the look of it.
And I dont mind the tenth or 2 difference in ET

I don't know what the weight difference is, but the LX coupe is the one you want if you're after light weight.
Not only is it lighter, it's also a stronger body construction versus the hatchback style.

subframe connectors are just 2 pieces of metal that weld to the bottom of the car parallel to the sides and are usually about 4 feet long. They add rigity to the chassis.

The only difference between an LX and GT hatch worth noting are the fact that the GT has an upgraded suspension and ground effects, and due to this extra upgrade the LX weighs about 200 lbs less (if I remember correctly). Other things contributed to the less weight too like not having the foglights, brackets, etc.
