I believe it just tells the computer how cold/hot the air is so that it will richen or lean out the fuel going in. Mine didnt have a spot for it either when i put the gt40p on so i just left it plugged in and it sits on top of the lower intake now. A guy at ford told me that where its sitting it will read pretty close, but if i want to i can make a hole and put it in the CAI tube so it will read that the air is a little colder.

thats the temperature sending unit for you temp gauge inside the car. The air charge sensor is between injectors 5 and 6

Sorry, but incorrect. It is the ACT sensor. I had to replace mine when I did my rebuild. O'rielly's had a borg-warner replacement for $15.

It is the ACT sensor. And there is no hole for it on the GT40 intake. Just leave it lying on top of the intake. It will be perfectly fine there. Thats exactly where mine is sitting.
