Default Distributor gear

Hey guys, I need some advice. So check this out. I'm running a 92' 5.0 motor in my 69 mustang. Since I want to keep the motor carburated, I was told that I can't use the stock distrbutor for the 92 mustang but, that a distributor from a 85 mustang that would work just fine. I know both those motors cam with a roller cam but, when I went to look up the part to buy it it asked me if I needed one with a steel gear or cast iron. Does anyone know which one I need?

Steel. The roller cammed engines came with a steel gear. And yes an 85 Carbed 5 speed dizzy is what you'd need.
