Default Suspension and traction issues

For those making 500hp + or not
First of all, I’ve already searched the forum.
Just put a new motor and Vortech s-trim
http://amarilloracers.vidiac.com/top...B226B8B0B8.htm
in my 1993 mustang Lx. I made 508 hp and 508 torque to the rear wheels.
Can’t get any traction. Duh. I’ve got some MT ET streets 28x10.50x15. And that’s pretty much it for traction.I'm doing a decent burn out. The reason I went with street slicks is because of the stock axles.
I tried a few ¼ mile runs today. Best top speed was 109 with a bunch of traction loss. If I leave off the line at low rpm, it laggs. To high, lose traction in first and second gear.. Running 16 psi in the tires. The guy I bought this car from told me that it has suspension springs out of an 1993 4 cylinder stang.
What suspension parts to I need to buy for the front and rear?
I just need to know where to start and want to buy. I dont want to go back and ugrade the suspension later.Any tips?

I'm not seeing where you're going with the rear axle. The axle should be strong enough to handle the power and if it's not then you should consider that as your first upgrade. A 4 link setup would definently help you. The other thing I've heard people do (NOTE: this is a cheap, oldschool way, I've never done it but I would try if I had a drag truck) is take chains and bolt them on the spring to limit travel so that the rear has to come up a bit.

Well I know where your going with the axles. The axles in these cars from the factory are junk after you put slicks on them. Ive heard of mustangs with a basically stock engine breaking the axles with Drag radials.

As far as the 4 link...well um it comes factory with four link...just kinda a poor design that works.

There a lot of suspension mods that you can do to get it to hook. But first your gonna have to upgrade your diff and axle to handle the grip.

If I were you here are some of the FIRST things I would add:

Subframes
Torque Box Reinforcements (VERY IMPORTANT)
31 Moser Axles
Upgrade Differential, etc.

As far as suspension there are MANY things to upgrade.... Heres just a brief list:

Tubular K Member
Tubular A Arms
Coil Over Kit (Front & Rear or just Front, etc.)
Shocks/Struts
Springs (if no coilover)
Upper/Lower Control Arms (BEST help w/ improving traction)
etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc.

BTW, I am VERY interested to hear what else you have done to the car. Also, I am guessing this is all on a stock block w/ stock internals. Please give a detailed description of setup. THANKS!

Eh... yeah it does and doesn't like you said.... I've been wanting to replace my quadshocks and get some tubular lower control arms. I've heard it's a good idea to strengthen the mounting point of the control arms with some washers prior to install. The last guy makes a good point with his frame stiffening. No point in having all that power if you can't plant it. BTW.... what gear do you have?

What kind of budget are you working with? Do you want the best or the best bang for the buck?

For the rear, swap the 4cyl. springs for V8 springs. Look into UCAs, LCAs and an anti-roll bar from Team Z Motorsports, Wolfe or if on a budget UPR. For the front suspension, look at PA, AJE or again if on a budget UPR.

Not really on a buget but I'm not rich. What ever you guy suggest will determine how much overtime I'll have to work
I'll look into the parts you've suggested.

Thanks
