keep it out of overdrive

and for the price it would cost for a 5 speed swap he could get a Lentech Street Dominator

unless u really want a manual the AOD to 5 speed swap is useless (for the money anyway)

is that why my AOD kinda shifts hard when i give it barely any gas?

it seems if i dont bring it up to around 2200 rpm's it kinda "shoves" itself into gear its hard to explain

I drove it again this evening and it seems drivable but definitely not normal. Summit has PN# PA53101, which is a Performance Automatic brand AOD and is rated at 450hp, which I don't think will ever be under much stress from my mostly stock 5.0, and it costs about $1300. I also found a rebuilt World Class T-5 on Ebay for $350. If I get the manual what should I expect to pay for the rest of the parts necessary to swap them(clutch, cables, brackets and pedal)? Should I go with the PA AOD or get the T-5 and hope I can do the swap with out having to take to a shop and pay them to fix my mistakes?

I also found PN# TCI-438905 rebuild kit that will convert my stock AOD to TCI Streetfighter. The best part is it's only $290. I would prefer to do this but I'm not sure rebuilding an automatic trans is something I can do by myself.

p.s. The kit comes with bands, clutches, gaskets, seals, filter, and shift kit.

it more often then not will just rev without moving and then start moving and doesn't want to shift into overdrive at all. What could have caused all this? I don't manually shift the car or do neutral drops.
to be honest...driving it causes that. stock aod's are just expensive boat anchors

manually shifting is better for an aod, if your keeping it out of od unless on the freeway

as far as the gearing...both are .068:1

as far as the aod stomping 5-speeds...not gonna happen. even with the low gearset , shift kit and 3000 converter, your just on par w/ a 5-speed.

as far as a nice rebuild lasting ??? i went through 3 aod's on my '90 GT i that bought brand new, it was never faster than 14.20's

if you want auto.....go lentech, a rebuild will be about $1800 , the converter is junk it can't be flushed..... od band and sunshell are toast guaranteed...

lentech or t5....or rebuild it again in a year...but it's your choice , i'm just giving my personal experience.

you need a 3000 stall, cooler, shift kit, "a" servo , redline clutches , and pack a couple extra's

Well I did find that rebuilt WC T-5 for $350 but I don't know if I can do all the work by myself. The reason the TCI rebuild kit seems like my best choice is its price because I don't have much money to spend and I don't know if the trans will hold out until I can afford to buy a high performance AOD or swap in a manual.
