My AOD is FU(KED!
Thursday I drove to my office and it drove fine, in fact I've never had a problem with it. Last night I drive it and the trans is slipping. From a stop it more often then not will just rev without moving and then start moving and doesn't want to shift into overdrive at all. What could have caused all this? I don't manually shift the car or do neutral drops. I checked the fluid and it seems normal. I thought about putting a bottle of Lucas Transmission Fix in it and pray. If there is serious damage I am not looking forward to driving the '93 Tempo until I can afford to fix the Mustang. [&o]

Well I put two 24oz bottles of Lucas Transmission Fix in it and it seems to be improving with time. I drove it about 5mi and at first it didn't change at all and then gradually it is shifting into drive and overdrive easier. I have been thinking about swapping in a 5 speed but I'm not sure if I can do it by myself. I have removed and replaced a T-5 my last mustang and it was easier than I thought it would be but it's having to put a clutch, cables, and a pedal that wasn't there before. Although with having 4.10s a 5 speed will make the car much more drivable on the highway, no more cruising at 3k rpms.

I say convert it to a 5 speed. If it happens to be the AOD is going out, which I would put money on that, then you could find a 5 speed swap with everything you need for 500-1000 dollars. I got mine for 600 shipped and let me tell you, that ol AOD wouldnt have lasted a month with my new engine and what I put it through.
(I hate a stock AOD)
