No, it wasnt a forged crank since it was still a stock (DSS Level 20) block.

so instead of putting new rings in you bought a whole new engine. good call!
Didnt have much choice. When the rod broke ( about two inches dont from the pin) the piston rotated in the bore thus mis-aligning the valve reliefs which in turn caused a PTV issue , which mangles the piston enough to break the head of the valve off and embed it into the cylinder head while the remaining pieces of the rod destroyed the cylinder wall thus destroying the block.

I believe they were the Pro X pistons. This was a little over a year ago it broke and the engine was bought two years before that.

Both blocks and setups were AFU then huh?? Sorry to hear. You must beat the ever living schitt out of them yes??

I haven't heard too many stories like that before..Is DSS going to help you out in any way since it was their setup that (?)failed??

Or was it entirely your fault? I would like to think that a big company with their name on the line would want to help you out.

The first one was definately trash afterward. Not sure about the secone one as I have yet to pull it out of the car and tear it down. I really dont beat the crap out of them, and the last one never even was launched at anything above idle! Its a street car, I drive it on weekend and hit the track every now and again. Both were N/A, and maintained very well. I doubt DSS will do anything about it. Most companies wont on performance items. Too hard to say it was their fault or my fault. Its not worth litigation over in my opinion, live and learn.
