RE: 351
I would get the 351 then do H/c/i some what radical like 10.1 compression, afr 185's ported n flowed, cutom cam...350-400 rwhp on good tune...then turbo t76 rear mout turbo 5psi and aroun 600 to the wheels with supporting mods...race gas...scratch the 10.1 for turbo run 8-5 with turbo and 10.1 N/A...oh and you must have the supporting mods, fuel, susp, block, rear. etc

RE: 351
You better have deep pockets to do all the stuff you're saying. If I were you a going with a 351W or 418W, I'd bag doing anything to your stock motor, but with 77,000 miles you could mod that engine out and generate nice HP's.
Just go blower and heads and you won't believe the difference.

RE: 351
you have a long long way before you blow your motor. this kid i went to cj pony parts with has an 88 with 275k on the clock and is trying to blow his motor since he has a 347 stroker sitting around he goes through new tires every 2 weeks good luck blowing the engine best way is taking some slugs to it

sounds good except for the C4 ill drop a viper spec 6 speed in there..manual tranny is too much fun.. i want it to be somewhat streetable tho and not get much less than say 14 mpg....... i figure ill go carb just cus thats ALOT easier to tune and easier to make power...... but im thinking 14 mpg with a 408 and a carb is almost out of reach......

I was able to get over 20 on the highway with my setup, which was stock 302 efi at the time.

RE: 351
Go ahead and modify the 302 while planning the 351w.
302 heads are easy to modify to a 351w.
If you select the right upr/lwr intake package, then the 351w conversion will only require a new lower intake.
Be sure to work the chassis and suspension.
The torque of a stroked 351w can rip your torque boxes apart, and permanently damage your chassis.
If you need any info on performing the swap, check out my website.
I have a fairly detailed Fox Swap FAQ there.
