tansmission question
Ok have a 90 LX 5.0 and its an automatic....i know i know i'm a pusssy since i drive an automatic my question is i want to change the tranny would i be better off keeping the automatic and throwing a shift kit and a stall in it or just throwing in a slap shifter...i dont wanna go thru the whole auto to manual conversion b/c it get messy [:@]

Well, if you have enough money get a Lentech AOD Street Bruiser... good for 550hp, street/strip valvebody (1-2-3/4 shift pattern, electronic overdrive delete, etc. etc. etc. etc.
OR you can just do the shift kit, stall & gears.

please i have a aod beefed up high energy clutches and kevlar band,and a a servo,and a good pump..and i have never had problems..i have juiced it with a 3000 true stall. for over 2 yrs...smoked a many of t 5s... t 5s are good up tp a certain torq..like 300 or so not that much...just get a performance rebuild on a aod... a freind of mine builds race trannys on side and built mine for 325.00 plus parts....you can get a gear ratio kit from ford racing...
