I installed on the ground, but it is difficult and a lift ot even floor jacks will save your back and your mental health

yupp yupp get some jack stands! makes it alot easier! you will prolly need longer extensions too. you might need ot remove some of the smog pump hoses, and the plugs and wires should come off too. just make sure you know which wire goes to which cylinder.

Another Q:

The exhaust studs that are attached to the "fire cone" section of the headers that bolts to the H-pipe, where do I get them? Can I just use the ones already on my stock headers? They are BBK 1 5/8 unequals... and I think they're ceramic .

Thanks all!

ORIGINAL: 93foxgt

Well, I shelled out $40 extra for Stage 8 locking header bolts. I hope they're long enough... they're only 3/8" in full (counting the head) but they look good. They're supposed to never come back out until you want them out.

Thanks for the quick answer. Any other tips?

did u shell out the extra cash for some dead soft gaskets well worth the money!

I got some felpro performance gaskets. They're a pretty close match (closer than the BBK) and they're supposed to be metallic laminate and everyone told me to get them. Are there better worth sending these back for?

Also, the exhaust studs that are attached to the section of the headers that bolts to the H-pipe, where do I get them? Can I just use the ones already on my stock headers? They are BBK 1 5/8 unequals.

use the fel pro gaskets and dont us the cork/paper ones bbk supplied.. also torques specs are min 40 ft lbs ... just double box two openended wrenches to gether and tighten the sh*t out of them and revisit them every few weeks for a couple months just to make sure they dont loosen due to vibration... those stage 8's work sweet though
